I want to share something personal about what I think. I feel the need to get it out there for people to understand why the burning need to do what I do now. Warning, it can be a little bit morbid.
Since the conception of havaroma, it has become a personal mission to empower people to take charge of their own emotional and physical health for nothing can be more important than that.
With 1001 things to do daily, we forget. We begin to take things for granted and sadly, this includes our own well-being. We begin to leave our very much prized asset unattended, only paying it a little bit of attention when something comes up.
And it is usually because it gets in the way of your daily activities.
“Why flu oh why do you have to come now when I am my busiest?”
So easy to blame the flu right, but not how WE put ourselves in a vulnerable position to begin with. Or old age. Or that colleague, that friend. Or simply, everybody has it, it’s okay.
Never oursleves, it’s always something external 🙂
So here’s my take on it.
At the end of the day, nothing is more important than our health and no one, I repeat, no one gives your own health more TLC than yourself for YOU know YOUR body BEST. And you only have that one body, not many people are able to get second chances.
If you are lying on the bed, crying your eyes out because of a health issue, no matter what high quality care you are getting, know that it is YOU lying on the bed and experiencing these effects, not anybody else.
And that is why, it is really in your best interest to pay more attention to your well-being.
I see a healthy, laughing, strong 70 year old and I tell myself I want to be like that when I grow old. I want to be physically able to live my life to the fullest – every day of my life.
And for that to happen, I have to start taking care of myself now. Not tomorrow, not the day after and definitely not when I am lying on my deathbed with regrets.
Sure, things may go wrong sometimes no matter how well you look after yourself, but even then, I know in my heart of hearts that I have tried my best and that is good enough for me 🙂
Do you feel the same way as I do?
